852x - Product Announcement

Earlier this year we went out to customers and the wider jetboat community for product feedback. And the 852X is the product of overwhelming feedback from our wider customer base.

The 852X presents an appealing upgrade option for all jet boaters running an HJ212. The “X over” (retrofit) to the 852X is very straight forward as placement of the engine and other key components remain unchanged minimising the effort and costs. Importantly boat builders who fit HJ212’s will be able to fit the 852X straight into their production line without change.

Additionally, boaters looking for the “X factor” will have a simple cost-effective way to increase the performance and handling of their boat negating the need for an expensive boat replacement.

How's it different from our 852 WaterJet you may ask?

  • HJ212 footprint

  • Close-coupling driveline option

  • New manual reverse suited to SSS Engineering controls

So now, along with its bigger brother the 912, there is a higher featured retrofit and new build option for a broader range of existing jet boat users.

The application range of the two units is generally complementary to each other with a small area of overlap.

Importantly though, as the intake footprint is identical for both the Scott Waterjet 8.5” and 9.1” the jet boater can easily upgrade from one to the other when considering a more powerful engine or the need for a higher load lifting capability.

The 852X comes standard in a Two-stage configuration including a Scott Trim Nozzle so the opportunity to simply upgrade your existing single-stage pump to a more capable waterjet is a no brainer.

The benefits of the 852X speak for themselves:

  • the ability to actively trim your boat for varying water and load conditions

  • provide better ‘holeshot’ ability

  • significantly improve resistance to cavitation and spinout

  • superior white-water capability

  • increased ability to plane in shingle shallows even with a ‘grill full’.

You also asked for close coupling to maximise cockpit space while still providing a “quiet” driveline.

Well, the 852X provides this and much more!

The 852X is ideally suited to recreational boats in the 14-21ft range, extreme use white water boats and the vigorous shallow water boater where the trim and two-stage configuration helps to maintain performance even with a bunch of stones in the grill.

The longer jet with more leverage improves handing, with the trim and the grip of the two-stage higher volume jet lending itself to requirements of higher load-lifting boats, such as commercial operators running 350 - 383 style engines.

The ability to tune the jet with various impeller combinations and nozzle insert sizing, and resistance to cavitation/spinout, allows the boater to extract all the power from their engine. If more is required, enter the 912 able to handle larger horsepower engines, boats and loads be it for commercial operations or the serious hunter heading off into the remote regions of USA and Canada.

But, we’re not resting on our laurels there. For Scott WaterJet this is just the start of development and progression into the future of jet boating and we’ve very excited about bringing our jet boating family along for the ride.
